Kimball baseball field gets an annual spruce up

·

On Sunday, April 23, the Kimball Express and Kimball high school baseball teams had their annual spring clean-up at the city baseball field.

Every year, both teams work together to get the field ready for the upcoming season. The high school players bring their rakes to cleanup leaves and debris around the edges of the playing field and spectator areas. With the 20-plus players who participate each year, they make quick work of the much needed clean-up projects.

The Express players spend their time edging the infield area to keep overgrowth and lips to a minimum. They also performed the standard maintenance on the home plate area and pitching mound. The entire field also gets dethatched, mowed, and bagged up. The field stays in great shape throughout the year thanks to the all the players and teams that play on the field, and contribute so much to its upkeep.
