Stearns County, Board of Adjustment
Notice is hereby given that the Stearns County Board of Adjustment, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct the following public hearings to consider variance applications:
1. To consider a request from Suzanne and Daniel Geyen, Clearwater, MN, from the Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439, to construct a detached accessory structure less than 200 feet from Long Lake. Affected Property: Lots 3 and 4, Lumley Addition, Section 8, T122N R27W of Lynden Township. Property Address: 18573 Dover Road, Clearwater, MN.

REGULAR MEETING Minutes Board of Education
April 20, 2026
Ind. School District 739 Kimball, MN
Chair E. Helgeson opened the meeting at 6:00 with members Gallagher, Mancini, Lindberg, and K. Helgeson in attendance. Member Libbesmeier was in attendance remotely. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
Motion by K. Helgeson, seconded by Gallagher to approve the agenda as presented or amended. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Motion by Gallagher, seconded by Lindberg to approve the Consent Agenda. motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Consent Agenda included:
·Approve minutes from the March 16, 2026, Regular meeting
·Approval of Bills
·Treasurer’s and Quarterly Reports
·Accept resignation received from Megan Merchant, JV Volleyball Coach, effective March 16th, 2026.
·Approve spring coaching assignments: 7th grade baseball- Darrin Vanderwerf; 8th grade baseball – Dave Traurig.
·Approve hiring of Jesse Johnson, Elementary Custodian, effective March 21st, 2026.
·Approve hiring of Ace Meyer, High School Tech Ed, effective August 24th 2026.
·Resolution Accepting Donations from:
Mrs. Bonnifield reported on the following:
·6:10 Connect, the student mentorship program, is finishing a successful third year. Students will be going to the Annandale Bowling Alley for the year-end celebration.
·Prom is April 25 with a Grand March at 4:00 followed by dinner and dance at The Olde Coliseum in Richmond. Thank you to those who donated toward Post Prom which runs until 4:00 am and is free.
·MCAs have gone very smooth this year. Math and Reading are finished and Science is next week. Thank you to Erin Durga for her work in coordinating MCAs.
·There are many upcoming field trips including 6:10 Connect to the Annandale Bowling Alley, 7th grade to the Forest City Stockade and Litchfield G. A.R. Hall, 6th grade to Deep Portage, Arts Club and Welding to Brodin Studios, 3D Art to Maine Prairie Studios. and Ridgewater will be delivering a CDL Simulator for those students interested in taking the CDL Permit class next year.
·Graduation is on May 21. Doors open at 7 pm and the program starts at 7:30. Board members were asked about attendance and who would like to hand out diplomas this year.
Mr. Timmerman reported on the following:
·Last week, April 13–17, KES celebrated the week of the military child. This is program recognizing families that are in the military and providing support for those families. KES had special dress up days.
·Volunteer appreciation week. Would like to recognize the 2 Foster Grandparents that come to KES. Grandma Carrie and Grandma Nancy volunteer on a regular basis at our school. They help with individual and small group reading, math skill practice and just being a special friend to some kiddos. Thank you so much for your time.
·MCA testing — Completed Reading last week and now into the Math portion of MCAs — next week we will complete Science.
·Activities coming up as we near the end of the school year:
*May 1st is Ag Day — HS students demonstrate and share information with KES
*May 4th, 3rd — 5th grade music program, 9:30 am and 6:00 pm
*Many field trips such as Iron Range, New London Environmental Center, Science Museum, Zoo.
*During the last week of school we will have our kickball game Staff vs 5th graders and our end of the year picnic on the last day of school.
*The 5th grade graduation is scheduled for May 18th at 1:45 pm.
*KES is looking for help on Friday, May 22nd in removing lockers form the elementary school. Bring a drill or impact driver to help remove 4 screws. They come in sets of 7 lockers and we will be removing 88 sets. Eric P will be helping to lead the removal.
Mr. Widvey reported on the following:
·Request from Kimball City Council to have a work session in regards to student crossings.
·ESP Contract Status
·Board Goal Work Session
·I will be participating in City Comprehensive Plan team meetings.
Motion by K. Helgeson, seconded by Gallagher to approve the revised 2025–2026 Budget. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.

Motion by K. Helgeson, seconded by Mancini to approve six (6) extended contract days for the Guidance Counselor. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Motion by Lindberg, seconded by Mancini to approve ten (10) extended contract days for the Ag/FFA Advisor. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Motion by Mancini, seconded by Lindberg to approve six (6) extended contract days for Curriculum Coordinator. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Motion by Lindberg, seconded by K. Helgeson to approve resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of the teaching contract of Aaron Fleck. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Motion by K. Helgeson, seconded by Lindberg to approve Policy 620, Credit for Learning. Motion carried 6–0 via roll call vote.
Next meeting dates: Benton Stearns Education District Board Meeting: 5/20 at 6:30 pm.
School Board Meeting: 5/18 at 6:00 pm.
