Kimball FFA attends National Convention in Kentucky

·

Thirteen members of the Kimball Chapter of the FFA attended the 76th National Convention in Louisville, Ky. Kimball FFA members left Tuesday, Oct. 28, on a coach bus headed to Louisville. On the way down they had to opportunity to stop and tour a cave in Indiana. Around 40,000 FFA members from across the country congregated in the Louisville State University Freedom Hall to attend the convention themed “Living the Legacy.” The official dress of the FFA includes blue corduroy jackets, black slacks, a white dress shirt and a tie. It was amazing to see such a large number of FFA members wearing the same uniform. Those attending the conference learned a great deal about FFA while attending a variety of sessions. For example, FFA originated in 1928 when there were only 15 members. FFA members also had to opportunity to take in a talent show and explore downtown Louisville. Members visited the Louisville Sluggers Museum, where many baseball bats are made. Kimball FFA members met many new friends on the trip and already are looking forward to next year. They would like to thank everyone who made the trip possible. Any contributions made were most appreciated. The Kimball chapter would especially like to thank the following organizations.
