On June 18, the Kimball FFA held its first summer meeting. They started the meeting with ditch clean up, then grilled and went over the plans for the summer. For anyone who was not at this meeting, here is a schedule of the summer events: • June 25-29: State Greenhand Camp. • July 23: Chapter meeting in the ag room (activity at 7:30 p.m., meeting at 8 p.m.). • July 25-29: Dairy judging contest at Stearns County Fair. • July 30: State Fair entries due for beef and dairy. • Aug. 2-5: Meeker County Fair. • Aug. 5: Kimball works in the FFA Barnyard. • Aug. 6: State Fair entries due for sheep and swine. • Aug. 8: Tractor driving, general livestock and horse judging contests at Kandiyohi County Fair. • Aug. 10-12: Kimball Days – parade, car wash and burger stand. • Aug. 16: Horse judging contest at Renville County Fair. • Aug. 23: Dairy and general livestock judging contests at State Fair. • Aug. 31-Sept. 3: FFA livestock encampment at State Fair. • Sept. 4: School starts. • Sept. 14: Greenhands in the spotlight.
