Lorie Wakefield of Watkins died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Koronis Manor Care Center in Paynesville. She was 56.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Church of God in Eden Valley with Rev. Anne Fishhaber officiating. Interment was in the St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery in Forest City.
Lorie C. Wakefield was born Feb. 22, 1959, in Litchfield to Richard and Alice (Fallon) Wakefield. She graduated form Litchfield High School in 1977. Lorie was employed as a painter and wallpaper hanger for many years. She also worked as a DFL political fundraiser. Her hobbies included reading, word search puzzles, and cooking. Lorie especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Lorie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her children Jesse McWherter of Redwood Falls, and Devin McWherter of Montevideo; grandchildren Kamryn and Kayle McWherter; sister Dana (and Troy) Simmons of Watkins, and brother Bret (and Mona) Wakefield of Dassel.
Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
