Quiet weather midweek
Weather:
It certainly was another hot and muggy day across Minnesota on Monday to start off the work week. We have been dealing with it for the last few days, of course.
Temperatures on Monday climbed into the mid to upper 80s with a few lower 90s found across parts of western and southern Minnesota. However, factoring in the dew points in the upper 60s and lower 70s, it felt more like 90 to 95 degrees across much of central and west central Minnesota.

With all of that heat and humidity, we knew something had to break and a cold-front arrived by Monday night moving out of North Dakota and South Dakota.
This brought with it some thunderstorms late Monday night into Tuesday. Some of these cells had the potential of being on the strong to severe side for Tuesday across parts of Greater Minnesota.
Once this system exits Minnesota by Tuesday evening, we should have a string of pretty nice days with lower humidity and temperatures in-line for this time of the year.
By the way, a weak tornado did do some damage in Watonwan County on Friday. It touched down about 6.5 miles south of
St. James. There were reports of damage to a building owned by the Civil Ag Group along with damage to several corn and soybean fields. Thankfully, no injuries are reported.
Keep in mind, there still is plenty of summer left and lots of opportunities for stormy conditions, so keep an eye on the sky.
Have a great rest of the week.
