Quinten Berres is two-time wrestling State Champion

The 2014 MSHSL State Wrestling Individuals Tourna-ment was held last weekend at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Kimball?Äôs Quinten Berres, in the 132-pound division, fought his way to a State Championship title last Saturday, as he earned a 6-4 decision over Hayfield?Äôs Mason Moreno. Berres wasn?Äôt alone in the accolades department, as a couple of his teammates shined as well. Austin Schiefelbein at 220-pounds, battled his way to the championship bout, and fell just short, grabbing runner-up honors. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City?Äôs Lucas Damm won the match with an 8-3 decision. Capturing a very respectable third Place, 126-pound Blane Tschida claimed a major decision, 12-3, over Chris Ortman from Pierz. Way to go guys ?Ķ another great year.

Kimball junior Quinten Berres is State Champion in Class A wrestling at 132#, for the second year in a row. His victories at State were 3-0, 1-0, 3-1, and 6-4.
In regular season this year, he lost only one match (and won 34).

Senior Austin Schiefelbein (38-6) is second in State, only losing his last match, to Lucas Damm (43-4) of ACGC. Austin wrestled at 220#.

Kimball?Äôs junior Blane Tschida (44-1) took third in State at 126#. He won his final match 12-3 against Christopher Ortman of Pierz.
