Relay for Life supports cancer victims, patients, survivors

·

Relay for Life 2004 will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, June 11. The annual event is is held to support cancer survivors and patients, and remember those who have lost the battle with cancer. Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society would like to invite you to be our guest at the event. Cancer survivors are invited to attend a reception beginning at 5 p.m. at the Kimball Area High School (KAHS) Athletic Field, followed by a survivor photo at 6:15 p.m. and a survivor lap at 6:30 p.m. There will be a performance by “the Quartet” at 7:45 p.m., followed by guest speaker Connie Powell at 8 p.m., Joyce Albert will perform at 8:15 p.m., with the lighting ceremony to begin at 9 p.m. A DJ will provide music throughout the evening. The food booth will be open from 5-11 p.m., so stop in for a burger or hot dog. If you have never been to or seen a Relay for Life event, stop in and experience ours for the first time. As dark falls on the field, it begins to glow with each candle that is lit in the luminary bags. The emotion is like no other. A silent time is held in which everyone remembers those who have lost their battle with cancer, those who continue the battle, and those who have survived. Please join us for this year’s Relay for Life event at the KAHS Athletic Field. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.”
