An open house in honor of Harold and Dorothy Schmitz’s 60th wedding anniversary will be from 12-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Playland Ballroom. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. The couple’s children and their spouses will host the celebration. They are Daryl Schmitz of Lincoln, Calif.; Pat (and Jeff) Thull of Plymouth; Dennis (and Jan) Schmitz of Kimball; Ron (and Karen) Schmitz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Robert Schmitz of Loomis, Calif. Harold and Dorothy (Johannes) Schmitz were married Oct. 3, 1944, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas.
