Sixth-grade girls FLIP for careers

St. Cloud Technical College will host “FLIP,” (Fun Learning, Infinite Possibilities) Tuesday, March 16. About 150 sixth-grade girls from Foley, Holdingford and Kimball are expected to attend the event which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Students will go through a series of workshops showcasing non-traditional career opportunities. Women within the fields of aeronautics, welding, truck driving and more will lead the girls in discussion and hands-on activities. By the end of the afternoon, every student has been through a series of workshops and goes home with a T-shirt and a picture book to remember their experience. Funding for the FLIP program is provided by local civic organizations.
