Spring is delayed with a cooler-than-average weekend

We’ve had an active weather of late. Over the weekend much of the area saw some freezing rain and snow. The most snow Saturday fell in Nisswa with
3.3 inches of snow. Also, north of Camp Ripley 2.2 inches of snow was reported.

Meanwhile, Alexandria had a dusting of snow but, along with that, .30 inches of freezing rain was reported by a spotter. From Elbow Lake, Kimball, and St. Cloud there was a mix of freezing drizzle and light snow as well. This caused slick roadways at times.

Another winter storm is set to hit the area from Tuesday through Wednesday night. Accumulating snow along with some mixed precipitation will be likely. It appears the most snow to fall with this system will likely be north of I-94.

The good news is that once that system pushes through, it appears that a much quieter weather pattern will settle in for the weekend into early next week. I am sure many of you are happy to hear this news!
