Good day Kimball. It is Christmas week and the students are excited as ever for the holidays. Last week provided some interesting challenges with the extreme cold but fortunately we made it through.
Not a lot of new things happening this week. All the activities have events this week before the break, so if you get a chance, get out and see our students in action. If you have the opportunity, check out the school district?Äôs webpage and just take a look at all the information available. There are a lot of tabs with a lot of information to help keep the community informed of all of the things going on in the district. While you navigate your way through the webpage, be sure to bookmark the page that has information you are looking for, as well as sign up and like the twitter updates you can get on Kimball activities. That should help the next time you are looking for that information from the same group or club.
I want to send out a big thank you to Bob Stein. This is his last week on the school board and he has decided to retire from school board life. Mr. Stein has been on the school board for five years and has seen many things over that time. Mr. Stein has been a great school board member and representative of the community. He will even admit himself that he has learned a lot about schools and how they work while being on the school board. Mr. Stein brought a sense of calm, questioning, and solutions to many issues in the time I have been here. I know that he can feel good that the district is moving in the right direction and making progress to be the best. Thank you, Bob, for your service and time. I look forward to seeing you on the hills of Powder Ridge getting it ready for the young and young at heart for a fun time on the slopes.
Remember to watch for anyone who looks lonely or just needs a helping hand.
This time of year is difficult for a few of our children and their situations at home. There is no better time to help someone out than now. So stay warm, get out and watch our students participate and perform. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. GO CUBS!
