The American Red Cross hosted a blood drive at Watkins on April 18. Thank you to the 54 donors who came. 50 units were collected with 19 Type O, and one first-time donor.
This was a community effort. Thank you to those who advertised the drive: Tri-County News, EV-W Voice, the churches, city marquee, and local businesses. Thanks to St. Anthony Parish for the use of the Social Hall. The work of the volunteers who readied and reset the furniture, and those who worked at the registration desk and canteen all were greatly appreciated. You made a difference in saving lives.
The next blood drive in Watkins will be from 12-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, and is open for scheduling.
