The Stearns County Sheriff?Äôs Office received a report on Wednesday, Dec. 20, that several snowboards had been stolen from skiers at Powder Ridge Ski Area. An employee of Powder Ridge observed two males load four snowboards into their vehicle. The employee gave the license number of the vehicle to the 911 dispatcher. The license number was relayed to Wright County Sheriff?Äôs Office who stopped the vehicle and found the snowboards inside. The sheriff?Äôs office cautions people not to leave their equipment unattended.

The Stearns County Heritage Center has again been awarded the highest honor a museum can receive: accreditation by the American Association of Museums. Of the nearly 9,000 museums nationwide, only approximately 750 are accredited. Of those, only 440 have had their accredited status renewed. The Stearns County Heritage Center is the only museum outside of Minneapolis and St. Paul to have received museum accreditation.

Elementary Physical Education new record holders in the one minute basket shoot. Randy Block and Jason Spaulding established new school records at 31 baskets in one minute! Randy Block broke Jesse Liedman?Äôs 6th grade record of 26 baskets and Jason Spaulding broke Keith Landwehr?Äôs and Eric Jensen?Äôs 5th grade record of 21 baskets. This has been the highest score to date in the history of the minute basket shoot.

From Sheriff Jim Ellering: Friday, Dec. 17, 1976, Vehicle driven by John Johnson of RR#1 Kimball struck buffalo, which is owned by Mark Schneider of RR#1 Kimball.
