Fifth and sixth-grade students at Kimball Elementary School were treated last week to a visit by their D.A.R.E. officer Tim Kantos who was delivered by Minnesota National Guard helicopter.

Mike Theis, a semi-truck driver for Gannon Elevator narrowly escaped injury when the semi he was driving collided with a 1994 Toyota driven by a 39-year-old woman who had fallen asleep and veered into his lane. Theis was unharmed. The woman had to be extricated from her car. She was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital the same day.

The Kimball Volleyball Team received the District 20 Runner-up trophy. The Cubs ended with a 20-4 season record with four trophies, including CMC Conference Champs. The Serving Award went to Wanda Nieters and Julie Kunkel. The Spiking Award went to Jane Konz, and the Hustle Award went to Karen Hendrickson..
