In appreciation and “thank you” to everyone who donated to our annual “Poppy Day.” Thanks to the volunteers who helped make it a success. It is because of all of you that we can make all the money go to help our veterans and their families with projects like the following: • Dept. President’s Project – Provides rehabilitation equipment at the new Spinal Cord Injury Center at the Minneapolis V.A. Medical Center. • MN State Vet. Memorial Assoc. – Cemetery at Little Falls, Memorial Day program. • 6th Dist. President’s Project – Two flat screen TVs for the Alzheimer Unit at the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center. • American Legion Auxiliary Hospital Program. • American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Fund (includes Kimball). • Ice cream social – The veterans at St. Cloud V.A.   Medical Center. • U.S.O. – Provides moral welfare and recreation to the military personnel and their families. • Creative Arts Festival – Veterans with disabilities who are gifted in art, musical abilities and other talents. • Gift shop – Vets are able to shop for their loved ones right at the V.A. Center from a choice of many gift items provided by donations. •$5 Bill Shower – A $5 bill in a holiday card is given to each veteran who resides at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Cloud and all other V.A. medical centers, A special “thank you” to the Tri-County News for the great coverage of Poppy Day.
