?ÄúSpanikopita,?Äù ?ÄúPeanut Butter Logs,?Äù ?ÄúBook Binding,?Äù and ?ÄúKrazy about Krumkaka?Äù are just some of the titles of food review displays and demonstrations that Meeker County 4-H?Äôers will exhibit at the annual 4-H Food Review and Demonstration Day Saturday morning, April 18. The event will be held on the second floor of the Meeker County Family Services Center in Litchfield. Food Review displays will be ready for judging at 9:30 a.m. Demonstrations will also begin at 9:30 a.m.
The purpose of Food Review is to give members a chance to explore the Foods project. Food Review provides 4-H?Äôers an experience in planning, preparing, and serving foods as part of a meal or snack. Additionally, participation gives the member an opportunity for self-expression, verbally and visually and provides members an opportunity to show what they have learned.
Demonstrations provide members with the chance to get in front of a group and give a talk about a subject of interest. Members may give individual or team presentations.
Winners of the competition earn a trip to the 2015 Minnesota State Fair. Anyone interested in seeing the 4-H?Äôers in action is cordially invited to attend. Awards will be given upon completion of judging.
University of Minnesota Extension is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
