An egg-citing time had by all

·

Kimball area’s Easter Egg-Stravaganza was a success on Saturday, April 8, inside the Kimball Area High School. More than 300 people enjoyed an Easter Carnival with inflatables, carnival games, raffle basket prizes, music, coloring Easter pictures, and posing for photos with the Easter Bunny.

The Family Fun Run that was supposed to take place on the track outside turned into a one-lap Family Walk/Hop/Skip inside the high school. Stella Wills (1st grade), Elowyn Stork (PreK), and Sadie Kujawa (PreK) were some of the top finishers in the Birth-5 competition. The older group of racers (ages 6-11) was represented by back-to-back first-place finisher Bo Meyer (4th grade). Evan -Molitor (6th grade) was the -runner-up followed by Carrine Stang (4th grade) in third place.

After the race, more than 150 children took part in the Kimball Easter Egg Hunt in the Cafetorium and the North Gym. The Easter Bunny and children enjoyed collecting more than 1,500 eggs.

Thank you to the following entities who helped make this special event possible: Kimball Christian Church for donating Easter eggs for the hunt and putting on the Carnival, Traut Companies for donating the bottled water for our racers, Kimball Community Ed for providing the top runners with an Easter medal, Kimball Knights of Columbus for donating funds to purchase supplies for the event, Hendricks Bus Company and other Kimball Community Ed Advisory Council members for donating candy for the Easter eggs, and to members of the Kimball Area Community Education Advisory Council who volunteered their time to work at the event.
