The Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB) is offering a scholarship opportunity to 2003 high school graduates who lived in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns or Wright county during their senior year. The CMAB offers arts scholarships to qualifying students in the four county area each year. Scholarships were not available in 2003 because of confusion about the CMAB designation as a regional arts council. The board decided to allocate funds to a scholarship opportunity for 2003 graduates while discussing the 2005 budget and grant calendar. Qualifying students must be enrolled in an accredited college with a major in one of the art disciplines. The CMAB is one of 11 arts councils in Minnesota that provides funds to artists, art organizations, schools and students. Its mission is to stimulate and encourage the creation, performance and appreciation of the arts in central Minnesota. The CMAB is funded by the Minnesota Legislature and the McKnight Foundation.
