Kimball Cubs Wrestling Coach Mike Schindler has been chosen as the 2011 KDUZ Wrestling Coach of the Year. The Cubs had a 33-2 dual record this season. The Cubs won the Rush City, Frazee, Fergus Falls, Kimball Duals and the Royalton Tournaments. The Cubs also won the Central MN Conference, and section championships. Mike has been coaching the Cubs since 2005 and has a career record of 81-64, and led the Cubs to the State Consolation in class A in 2010-2011.
Barry Strand has been selected the 2010-2011 Central MN Conference Junior High Coach of the Year. Barry has been coaching and teaching for the past 20 years. Barry taught physical education and was the head basketball coach at Stephan Argyle before coming to Kimball. At KAHS, Barry teaches physical education and has coached junior high football. He currently coaches volleyball, both boys’ and girls’ basketball and softball.
