Cubs open season against Bulldogs

The Kimball 8th-grade baseball team opened their season Tuesday, April 9, and traveled to Paynesville. Nolan Petersen started on the hill for the Cubs. Nolan pitched three strong innings. He gave up two hits and two runs while striking out eight and allowing one walk. Graham Gregorson relieved Petersen and pitched four excellent innings. Graham allowed one hit and two unearned runs. He struck out eight and walked two in the 4-3 extra-inning loss.

At the plate, the Cubs collected six hits. Ryder Schwieters had two to go along with his two runs scored. Kimball drew four walks and struck out 16 times. The loss puts the Cubs at 0-1 on the -season as they host Holdingford on Thursday.
