Cubs play two on the road

·

The B-squad boys basketball team began the week losing at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted by a score of 67-45. The Cubs were unable to slow down the Lakers fast breaking offense. The Cubs were led by Jason Tenny scoring 20 points in the contest, his personal best this year. Sam Scheeler scored 11 points, Zak Kuseske six, Scott Stenger and Eric Nystrom chipped in three each, and Logan Looman had two. Next, Kimball traveled to BBE with the hopes of slowing down another team with an up-tempo style offense. BBE made some offensive rallies, but Kimball answered the rallies with some good full-court and half-court defense, and some fast-breaking offense of their own. At the final buzzer, BBE held on for a 52-50 victory. Karl Hunt led the way for Kimball with 15 points followed by Scott Stenger with 12 points. Stenger connected on three, three-point baskets in the contest. Sam Scheeler also had 10 points, Jason Tenny and Rick Massmann scored four points each, Zak Kuseseke three, and Eric Nystrom two. Kimball travels to Pierz on Thursday, Feb. 23, for their lone game of the week.
