David Nistler of Cheyenne, Okla., formerly of Eden Valley, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta, Minn. He was 88.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Assumption Cemetery in Eden Valley.
David P. Nistler was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Eden Valley to Steve and Susan (Thielen) Nistler. He married Barbara Smith July 4, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas. David served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked throughout the United States putting up cement grain bins and silos. He also did construction work for Ross Perot and J.D. Hunt at their ranches in Texas. David and Barbara settled in Cheyenne, Okla., raising cattle and wheat.
David was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Caroline Asfeld, Norbert Nistler, Lorraine Scheiber, Marcella Prows, and Larry, Bob, Ed, Leander, Gilbert, Elmer, Donald and Harold “Steve” Nistler.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Cheyenne, Okla., sister Lucille Asfeld of Watkins, sister-in-law Dee Nistler of Sparks, Nev., and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
