Diane Janssen of Watkins died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at St. Cloud Hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 51. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Monday, and from 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Catholic Order of Foresters prayed a rosary at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Diane Janssen was born March 22, 1953, in St. Cloud to Edward and Marcella (Boeckmann) Geislinger. She married Jim Janssen May 3, 1975, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. She was employed at Fingerhut in St. Cloud and Manhattan Toy in Eden Valley until health difficulties forced her to retire. Diane was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins where she belonged to the Council of Catholic Women and Catholic Order of Foresters. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael Geislinger. She is survived by her husband Jim of Watkins; daughters Jody Janssen (and fiance Josh Wylie) of Kimball, Julie (and Derick) Fincher of Sauk Rapids, and Cindy (and Jay) Kuechle of Watkins; brothers and sisters Elmer (and Kathleen) Geislinger, Larry (and Viola) Geislinger, Vic (and Mary Jane) Geislinger, Irv (and Betty) Geislinger, Robert (and Diane) Geislinger, Arlene (and Norbert) Lahr, all of Watkins; sister-in-law Rosie Geislinger of Watkins; many nieces and nephews.
