Stock shipping is profitable through effective officials

Association organization six years ago; present year to be biggest
The Kingston & Kimball Farmers Co-operative Stock Shipping Association was organized June 30,
1922. The president is Carl Engler; vice-president is M.A. Leppa; manager is John Stein; secretary and treasurer is Joel Hokkanen. Directors are Frank Ecker, Elias Wusanen; Jacob Myllykangas, and John M. Abbott.
This association ships every Thursday and parties wishing to obtain full price at the South
St. Paul market for their livestock, less cost of marketing, may bring their stock without notifying the manager. Patronage is always appreciated and will be taken care of in accordance with the rules governing all co-operative shipping associations.
This association has grown constantly as is shown by its annual report ever since its organization. The present year, closing June 1, 1928, promises to be the best. Last year’s report shows shipment of 69 car loads, netting the shippers $104,686.97. The present year shows a shipment of 61 car loads and there are nearly three months more to complete the fiscal year.

Kimball Days coming to town
You don’t want to miss this one! The Kimball community’s 125th year! Beginning Friday, Aug. 12,
“Supper-in-the-Park” from 5 to 8 p.m., serving the favorite menu of hot roast beef on bun, baked beans, coleslaw, anniversary cake and beverage, only $6.50 adults, and $3.50 children 3-10, under 3-free. For this special celebration, enjoy the music of Richard Eckman and Friends with supper.
Saturday, Aug. 13, from 7 to
10 a.m., visit Audrey’s Coffee Nook at 30 Main Street in Downtown Kimball, watch for sign. Homemade cinnamon rolls, juice or coffee. Proceeds go to the city hall project.
Continue Saturday from 9 to 4. Come and see “History in Motion” at Kimball’s Historic City Hall and presented by the Great River Modular Railroad Club, complete with trains, historians, and a movie. This live event will operate again Sunday from 9 to 3. Join us for this free event, including door prizes, gift souvinir, handouts and more. The railroad led to Kimball’s founding. All Aboard!
