Following Boards of Review for both Stearns County and then Meeker County, the April 6 regular meeting of the Eden Valley city council began at 8 p.m.
After approving the consent agenda, the council heard from Doug Ruhland for 40 minutes about his not having a rental license for 2020, although he has a current rental license for his apartment building. The council moved to have the city attorney look into issuing a retroactive 2020 rental license so that the whole matter can be put to rest.
The council heard discussion about a house that’s been moved into town, but the ground is not yet closed in, posing a risk to neighbors, and flowing mud into the street.
The council approved hiring a seasonal employee for grass mowing, Jerry Nohner. There were five applicants, and four were interviewed.
The next meeting of the Eden Valley city council will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, with an audit report on the agenda. Regular meetings are recorded and shared on the city’s YouTube channel.
