In a non-league game Saturday, June 17, the Kimball Express hosted the St. Joseph Joes. Kimball scored early, and maintained their lead throughout the game to the final score of 5-2.
Matt Friesen hit a double and a single for 2 RBI for the Express. Also hitting doubles were Cade Marquardt (for 1 RBI) and Adam Beyer. Noah Young also hit a -single on the day.
Skylor Gruba earned the win for the Express. He pitched 5 innings, striking out 3 and walking 2 while allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Matt Dingmann was the starting pitcher, striking out 1 in his 1 inning on the mound. Andy Dingmann pitched 3 innings in relief.
Isaac Benesh is tagged with the loss. He allowed 5 runs on 4 Express hits during his 5 1/3 innings on the mound; he struck out 4 and walked 5. Lukas -Theisen pitched the remaining game; he struck out 7 and walked 2 while limiting the Express to only 1 additional hit.
