The Fairhaven Christian Church recently hired Bro. Byron N. Black as its new minister. Bro. Black closed a seven-year ministry with the 17th Street Christian Church in Corbin, Ky., at the end of July. He and his wife Julie moved to Forest Lake, Minn., to help care for her ailing mother. Black received his theological education at Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary, Minnesota Bible College, and Kentucky Christian College. He has preached ministry for 37 years and has served in Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky. Black and his wife Julie have twins, a boy and girl, who live in Ky. and Va. They have one grandson. Black has been listed in the “Who’s Who of Professionals” in the 1988, 1992 and the yet-to-be released 2004 editions. He and his wife were awarded the honor of Kentucky Colonel in 1996. Black also has had the honor of giving the opening prayer in the Congressional side of the State of Kentucky Legislature in March 2002. Bro.
