After many days of record heat, a refreshing break in the park – complete with a splash pad – was an especially welcome treat.
Sunday afternoon, June 13, was the official grand opening of Friederichs Park in Eden Valley. The idea started many years ago, and it’s been at least five years in the making. Today was the official celebration of what has been accomplished so far. There is an enclosed shelter (that can be rented by calling City Hall, 453-5251), a splash pad, a great playground, and plenty of parking.
The next phase of the park could include an RV campground, paved trails, a skating/hockey rink, or tennis/pickleball courts. Fundraising for the park is ongoing for future projects.
Meanwhile, stop by and enjoy the park. It’s the perfect spot to spend some summer hours.
