Helen Young, formerly of Kimball, died Dec. 31, 2003, at her home in Klamath Falls, Ore. She was 88. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball with Rev. Heather Klason officiating. Burial will follow in the Maine Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Helen Ida Young was born Oct. 26, 1915, at Kimball to Walter and Ella Mae (Greeley) Spaulding. She married Kenneth E. Young on Jan. 2, 1937, in Kimball; he preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1991. Helen was a homemaker and resided in Long Beach, Calif., until moving to Klamath Falls six months ago. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and brothers Glen and Loren. She is survived by her sons Gary (and Pamela) Young of Detroit Lakes, Robert Young of Rialto, Calif., and Dennis (and Heidi) Young of Klamath Falls, Ore.; sister Marie Sherk of Foley; brother Milton (and Gladys) Spaulding of Kimball; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Caauwe, David Seutter, Neil Spaulding, LuVern Spaulding, Jerome Mechavich and Garrel Sherk. Music for the service will be provided by vocalists Karen Lundgren and Corinne Setterlund and pianist Kathy Queck.
