The Kimball Cubs hosted Foley Thursday, Dec. 12. The first half was a closely fought game with neither team pulling ahead of the other. The Cubs offense started out slow but got a boost from Lucas Jansky who connected on three 3-pointers in the half. However, Foley was able to answer with four 3-pointers of their own and the Cubs trailed 19 to 20 at halftime.
In the second half, the Cubs defense stepped up and limited Foley’s three-pointers to just one in the half. The Cubs were also able to take the lead and pull away thanks to their full court pressure that disrupted Foley’s offense and forced turnovers. The scoring in the second half had a balanced attack led by Jamison Tubridy scoring 10 points and a total of eight different Cubs scoring in the game. The Cubs would rally and go on to win 51 to 42.
Scoring for the Cubs: Jamison Tubridy, 10; Lucas Jansky, 10; Gabe Becker, 9; Skylor Gruba, 9; Jack Knaus, 6; Simon Stang, 3; Ty Gustafson, 2; and Matt Eich, 2.
