Karen Marquette of South Haven died Monday, April 18, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital. She was 65. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.mm. Monday, April 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Pastor Alex Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Cemetery in Fair Haven. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, and one hour prior to the funeral Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.
Karen Diane Sheldon was born Dec. 4, 1956, at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis to Wayne and Joan (Dahl) Sheldon. She grew up in Blaine until the family moved to Kimball in 1972. Karen graduated with the Class of 1975 from Kimball Area High School. On Aug. 23, 1975, she was united in marriage to Wayne Marquette at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven. They lived in Annandale prior to building their current home in South Haven in 1979. Karen enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, baking, four-wheeling, floral gardening, and spending time outdoors. She was an avid Vikings fan, and she loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her greatest passion in life was for her family who will miss her dearly.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Joan Sheldon; brothers Jeff, Dennis, Gary and Wayne Sheldon; and sister-in-law Becci Sheldon.
She is survived by her husband Wayne of South Haven; sons Bob (and Angela) Marquette of Annandale, and Joe (and Dena) Marquette of South Haven; eight grandchildren: Tyler, Allison, Trevor, Joslyn, Tristen, Morgan, Tanner, and Teagan; siblings Steve Sheldon of Phoenix, Ariz., Sandi Pool of Litchfield, Larry (and Eileen) Sheldon of Paynesville, Jody (and Steve) Brose of Annandale, Maynard Sheldon of Watkins, John Sheldon of Eden Valley, Janet Larson of Perham, and Dan Sheldon of Kimball; and many other relatives and friends.
Karen’s grandchildren will serve as the casket bearers. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
