Spectrum game

Kimball stats: Josh Witte, 4 points; Peyton Hooper, 18 points, 3 rebounds; Bryant Knaus, 5 points; 3 rebounds; Owen Mortenson, 13 points, 3 rebounds; Austin Schindler, 14 points, 5 rebounds; Ronnie Arnold, 3 points; Jed Spaulding, 4 points, 10 rebounds; Evan Powell, 8 points.

“We did not defend well to start, and they were able to get a lot of open shots that they knocked down. Once we settled down, we played much better and cut the lead to 10 points at the half. In the second half, we were able to make a few runs at them, but our recurring mistakes would cost us. We are capable of playing much better. I was very disappointed in our defensive effort tonight,” said Coach Jay Klein.

Holdingford game

Kimball stats: Peyton Hooper, 8 points, 5 assists; Bryant Knaus, 9 points; Owen Mortenson, 13 points, 9 assists, 6 steals, 4 rebounds; Austin Schindler, 19 points, 4 rebounds; Jed Spaulding, 8 points, 19 rebounds, 6 steals; Evan Powell, 8 points.

“In the first half, we hit five three-pointers, which really opened up the inside game for us. Austin Schindler scored 14 points in the paint as a result. Defensively, we forced 15 turnovers in the half, and led by 11 at the break. In the second half, we continued to attack the inside, which led to getting most of our points in the paint area. We had a number of players stand out with their performances tonight. Owen Mortenson had a great all-around game. Jed Spaulding dominated the boards, with 19 total. Austin Schindler had a great scoring performance,” Coach Klein explained.
