The boys’ sixth-grade traveling basketball team played their first tournament of the year in Melrose this past weekend. In the first game of the day, they played against Litchfield. The Cubs beat the Dragons by a 46-26 score.
In the second game, they faced Sauk Centre. Kimball trailed at the half, but turned it on in the second to win 34-29. In the championship game, the Cubs faced Minnewaska. Kimball jumped out to an early lead and then held on for a 29-27 victory.
