Lillian Walters died Monday, April 13, 2020, at her Watkins home, surrounded by her family. She was 88. 
A private family burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Watkins. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball at a later date.
Lillian E. was born July 20, 1931, to William and Frieda (Kiphuth) Marschel. She grew up in Annandale and attended Annandale High School. On Nov. 12, 1949, Lillian was united in marriage with Ervin Walters in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis and Bloomington where Lillian operated an in-home childcare service. They moved to Clear Lake near Watkins in 1983. Ervin preceded her in death Feb. 16, 2011. Lillian was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball and the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, visiting both coasts, Hawaii, and Alaska four times. She also enjoyed sewing, especially wedding dresses and quilts. She will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Arnold, Ben, Vernon and Delbert Marschel.
She is survived by her children Barbara (and Bill) Liedman of Kimball, Beverly (and Richard) Arten of Burnsville, Kathleen (and Michael) Ryan of Dellwood, Thomas (and Renée) Walters of Backus, and Todd (and Traci) Walters of Darwin; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Arliene Huikko of Annandale and Joyce Nelson of Annandale.
Arrangements are with Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
