Margaret Kinzer died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at her Watkins home. She was 100. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the St. Anthony Parish Center. To ensure visitor safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending will be encouraged to wear face masks and required to observe social distancing guidelines.
Margaret was born Dec. 15, 1919, in Maine Prairie Township to George and Catherine (Erpelding) Klein. She was united in marriage to John A. Kinzer on Nov. 20, 1940, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. They farmed in Watkins for many years. Margaret was an officer with the St. Anthony CCW, St. Anthony Cemetery Committee, and the Watkins Senior Citizens. She was active with the Mission Sewing Group, Wat-Kim-Valley VFW, and Watkins Lioness. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, gardening and flowers, especially roses. Her hobbies included sewing, embroidering, crocheting, and making quilts.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Diane Goenner, son Larry as a child, five children in infancy, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children John P. (and Rachel) Kinzer of Watkins, Donald A. (and Jan) Kinzer of St. Cloud, Richard (and Kathleen) Kinzer of Edina, Audrey (and Elijah) Coleman of Maplewood, Daniel (and Marietta) Kinzer of Albany, Margaret “Meg” Kinzer of Metairie, La., Dr. Charles (and Gayle) Kinzer of Rockville, Rose Mary (and Duane) Osgood of St. Cloud, Mary Sue Kinzer of Litchfield, Kathryn (and Wayne) Olson of Richmond, JoAnn (and Matthew) Martinson of Brooklyn Park; 28 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; and sister Catherine “Kitty” Winter of Maple Lake.
