The Minnesota FFA Foundation announces the James W. Tracy scholarship. The scholarship is available to Minnesota high school seniors enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary school in the U.S. (certificate, diploma or degree) and studying agriculture or animal husbandry. The scholarship will award five (5) $1,000 scholarships.
The scholarship is possible because of the generosity of James W. Tracy, a farmer from Dennison, Minn., who lost his battle with illness in 2014. Jim had a deep love for the land, farming and the desire to support youth, which led him to donate his farm to the Minnesota FFA Foundation. Generations of young people studying agriculture will benefit from this donation through the James W. Tracy Scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded based on leadership, involvement, agriculture interest and financial need. Applicants will be required to complete the application, write an essay and submit two (2) letters of recommendation. The guidelines and application can be found on www.mnffafoundation.org. Applications are due before or on Feb. 1, 2016. Scholarship recipients will be announced by May 1.
The Minnesota FFA Foundation partners with individuals and businesses to provide resources that promote and enhance premier leadership, personal growth and career success for Minnesota youth in Agricultural Education.
