Gannon receives scholarship Matthew Gannon of Kimball has been selected to receive the John D. Bublitz Scholarship by a committee within the Liberal Arts Department at Winona State University (WSU) for the 2004-05 academic year. Recipients must be enrolled as an undergraduate or master’s student in the Liberal Arts program. They are chosen based on academic record, major and financial need. Gannon graduated from Kimball Area High School in 2001. He is the son of Paul and Patricia Gannon. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Schefers joins forensics club Jennifer Schefers, a freshman social studies/secondary education major at Southwest Minnesota State University, has joined the forensics club. Forensics is open to all students, regardless of major. Students can improve analyzing, organizing, writing, speaking and listening skills, and travel to other colleges and universities to compete. Schefers graduated from Kimball Area High School in 2004. She is the daughter of Theresa Schefers. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Thompson is resident assistant Joseph Thompson of South Haven is a resident assistant (RA) for Pine Hall at Bemidji State University for the 2004-05 school year. Thompson is a senior majoring in elementary education. As an RA, Thompson lives on a floor within a residential hall on campus. His duties include facilitating community development; providing opportunities for leadership and learning through activities and programs; building advocacy, community expectations and agreements; and role modeling for a floor of 35-52 residents.
