Rev. Antonio Marfori served as an interim pastor briefly between 2007 and 2008. Last Friday, Jan. 12, it was announced that he has been added to a list of now 40 Catholic priests and monks in the Diocese of St. Cloud who have been accused of abusing children.
There are two complaints, one filed in 2015 and the other in 2016, against Fr. Marfori. After the first complaint, the Diocese?Äôs Bishop Donald Kettler removed Marfori?Äôs priestly faculties and ordered an investigation. Marfori currently lives in St. Cloud, under restrictions. He is no longer allowed to perform the functions of a priest.
The allegations date back to the late 1970s when Marfori was an instructor at Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. Both complaints accuse him of sexually abusing a minor while at Cathedral. There are no complaints during his brief time in Kimball.
Marfori was ordained in 1978 at St. Mary?Äôs in St. Cloud. He served at St. Francis Xavier in Sartell and Cathedral High School in St. Cloud from 1978-1980; at St. Paul?Äôs in Sauk Centre from 1980-1984; at St. Agnes in Roscoe from 1985-1993; at St. Margaret?Äôs in Lake Henry from 1987-1993; at St. Pius X in Zimmerman from 1993-2007; at St. Anne?Äôs in Kimball 2007-2008; and finally as canonical administrator at the parish cluster of St. Elizabeth in Brennyville,
Sts. Peter and Paul in Gilman, and St. Joseph in Morrill from 2008-2010. Marfori was placed on medical leave in 2010 and has not served since then.
There is information on the Diocese website on how to report abuse, as well as other resources.
