Tires dumped near Fair Haven

·

On Jan. 20, Deputy Brittany Stevens was on patrol in Fair Haven Township, in the 3200 block of 200th St., when she happened to stumble across a rather large flock of … old tires. Deputy Stevens located the pile of old tires in the south ditch in this area. She contacted the landowner and was told that, unfortunately, this happens a couple times a year and is usually tires or deer carcasses. Deputy Stevens surveyed the flock and counted 42 tires. The tires will need to be removed. Deputy Stevens contacted the township clerk for Fair Haven, which in the end, means all the fair residents of Fairhaven will share in the expense of this cleanup. That is, unless someone knows who may have “released” the flock at this location. I have had to dispose of tires here and there on occasion and yes, there is a fee. I strongly suspect here that someone offered to dispose of the tires for a fee and then dumped them. If you know who the responsible party may be, please call the Sheriff’s office at (320) 259-3702 to let us know.
