Two-vehicle crash in St. Wendel Township

At about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a crash with possible injuries at the intersection of County Road 133 and 322nd Street in St. Wendel Township. The initial caller reported it to be a T-bone crash, and injuries were unknown at the time of the call.

Stearns County Deputies arrived on scene a short time later to find disabling damage to both vehicles involved. Through investigation, deputies learned that Sara Allen, 30 of St. Joseph, was driving a 2014 Dodge Caravan and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 133 and 322nd Street. There were vehicles in the turn lane to turn eastbound on 322nd Street, and Allen advanced through the stop sign. A 2022 Ford Mustang Mach E, driven by Timothy Elness, 57 of Sartell, was traveling northbound on County Road 133 when it struck Allen’s vehicle.

Both parties were assessed for minor injuries and released at the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The Stearns County -Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the St. Joseph Fire Department, All Care Towing, and Mayo Ambulance service.
