Stars, planets and constellations have captured imaginations for countless generations. Graduate students from the University of Minnesota present “Universe in the Park” at Lake Maria State Park at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10. The program will be held at the park’s interpretive center. A slide presentation will be followed by outdoor observations in the adjacent parking lot. Participants are advised to bring telescopes and binoculars, although a few telescopes will be available for viewing. Visitors should bring flashlights for walking to the observation area, plus insect repellent, caps, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. The program is free, but a $7 park vehicle permit is required for those without an annual permit. For more information, call the park office at (763) 878-2325.
