Celebrating Eden Valley’s Past, Present, and Future, promises to be bigger and better than ever with some new events added to the lineup along with a full slate of returning favorites.
The annual summer festival, set for June 23-26, will kick off this year with Music in the Park featuring a Central Minnesota favorite Harper’s Chord, a four-piece country/folk/Americana band with lead singer Jill Moore. The event will take place Thursday evening in Friederichs Park on the south side of Eden Valley.
The Music in the Park kickoff is just one of five new events on tap for this year that will offer something new for all ages. Escape rooms continue to grow in popularity across the United States, and this year’s Valley Daze has jumped on the bandwagon, adding a “Mad Scientist” Traveling Escape Room which will set up shop Friday night from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the city hall.
Another pastime growing in popularity is ax throwing. Valley Daze visitors will have not one, but two chances to test out their arms. A mobile ax range will be open for business from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday and 7:30-11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Also new to the line-up will be the Touch-A-Truck event sponsored by Blue’s Towing and Recovery of Eden Valley. The event will allow visitors to get an up-close look at a variety of vehicles and promote the Slow Down Move Over project.
Rounding out the list of new events this year is a performance by the popular children’s group, the Teddy Bear Band, which will entertain the food court crowds on Saturday.
The Valley Daze Committee, made up of Julie Bulau, Lindsey Huschle, Jen Kaminskie, and Judy Thielen, are excited about the additions to this year’s lineup, but are also happy to say that all the old favorites are back too.
These events are possible thanks to our major donor, the Eden Valley Lions, plus numerous other business and individual sponsors. If you would like to have your name added to the list to become a Valley Daze supporter, mail your donation to Valley Daze, P.O. Box 63, Eden Valley MN 55329. Valley Daze is a non-profit 501C3 under the Citizens4Progress. All supporters will be mentioned in the newspaper and on Facebook as well as being listed on the parade flier that will be distributed to all parade attendees.
