Vivian Kling of Litchfield died Monday, April 16, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was 74. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Ostmark Lutheran Church with Pastor Melinda Melhus officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and one prior to services at the church. Vivian May Kling was born May 25, 1932, in Kingston Township, Meeker County, to John and Evelyn (Johnson) Weller. She grew up in Kingston Township and attended country school before attending and graduating from Litchfield High School. In 1951, she married Winston Kling and together they farmed near Forest City, where she lived the rest of her life. She worked as a cook for Augustana Home from the late 1970s until 1988. She was an active member of the Ostmark Lutheran Church and served on the ladies aid. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, puzzles and was an avid Twins fan. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sons Keith and John. She is survived by daughter Karen (and Jim) McCarthy of Litchfield; granddaughters Vanessa and Emily McCarthy; sister Eunice Ranta of Plymouth; nieces Susan (and Scott) Hansen of Corcoran, Linda (and John) Paulson of Minnetonka, Kaye (and John) Gilbertson of Minneapolis; nephew Steve (and Cheryl) Ranta of New Hope; other relatives and friends.
