Clippers have Litchfield singing the Blues

After a rain delay only two plays into the game Saturday, June 24, the Watkins Clippers trounced the Litchfield Blues, final score 16-5. An early lead by Watkins proved impossible for the Blues to catch up. Eight runs by the Clippers in the third inning alone pretty much cinched the big win.

Dan Berg earned the win, pitching 5 innings; Lincoln Haugen tossed the final inning in relief. Kaleb Kalkbrenner was tagged with the loss, pitching all 7 innings.

Dan Berg was a batting star with 6 RBI on 3 hits, one hit each in the first, second and third inning.  Kevin Kramer was 4-for-6 at the plate with a double and a total of 5 bases on the game. Adam Hiltner hit a home run, and had 5 RBI.

For Litchfield, Lucas Johnson and Casson Deal each hit a double. Deal had two RBI, and Johnson and Kal Volinkaty each had one.
