Katherine M. Becker of Kimball died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 93.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church inKimball, with Fr. Tom Knoblach officiating. Burial followed in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Friends called from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and Monday one hour prior to services at the church. There was a prayer service at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Katherine Margaret Becker was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Watkins to John and Mary (Becker) Hennen. She married Richard “Bill” Becker Oct. 25, 1938, in Kimball; he preceded her in death March 10, 1988. Katherine was a homemaker; from 1960-1967 a nursing assistant for Madden Nursing Home; and from 1975-1990 a cashier for Knaus Sausage House. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Legion Post #261 Auxiliary, Kimball Senior Citizens, and Royal Neighbors of America.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband; sons William, David and Michael; son-in-law John Stanz; daughter-in-law Barbara Becker; brother Raymond Hennen; and sister Marcella Kramer.
She is survived by children Ronald Becker of Plymouth, and Nancy Stanz of Kimball; sister Mildred Adolph of Paynesville; grandchildren Dave (and Chris) Stanz, Kevin Stanz, Rick Stanz, Patrick (and Nicole) Becker, Julie (and Mark) Mielke; great-grandchildren Alex and Zachary Stanz, Grace and Ethan Mielke, and Mackenzie Becker.
Pallbearers were Dave and Rick Stanz, Patrick Becker, Julie Mielke, Rodney Robinson and Cliff Dahl. Mary Streit was organist, and the St. Anne’s Choir provided the music for the service.
