NHS inducts 18 Sunday at EV-W

Lana Faber, an EV-W alumna originally from Watkins, was the keynote speaker at the National Honor Society induction Sunday, Jan. 8. She spoke of the four pillars of NHS (scholarship, leadership, character, and service) and called on all NHS members to continue these attributes well beyond high school.

Scholarship: it?Äôs more about the process of perpetual learning.

Leadership: plant your feet and be prepared to go against the grain to be a good role model.

Character: start with being grateful and saying ?Äúthank you.?Äù

Service: including the little, unnoticed things.

(A video of Faber?Äôs talk is on the Tri-County News YouTube channel.)
